One

If you feel your life is in danger, call:
111 – NHS Direct
Your local mental health crisis team
999 – Emergency services

Call a helpline such as:
Samaritans – 116 123
CALM – 0800 58 58 58 (5pm-midnight every day) is a helpline for men
Papyrus – 0800 068 41 41 (10am-10pm weekdays, 2pm-10pm weekends) is a helpline for people under 35

Three

Talk to somebody that you trust and try and meet up with them if possible

Four

Book yourself a GP appointment to discuss how you are feeling

Five

Try to avoid alcohol or mood altering substances

Six

Go to a place where you feel safe – whether it be a friend’s house or a public place


Seven

Try to do activities you enjoy which take your mind off what you are thinking

Eight

Keep a journal of how you are feeling – it may really help to write it down

Nine

Don’t think about the future, just focus on keeping yourself safe – whether its hour by hour or day by day
